Living Shouldn't Require a Membership

Through Patient Advocacy and a robust financial assistance program, Air Methods patients with Medicare pay an average of

$280*

in out-of-pocket expenses.
(includes co-pays and deductibles)

Air Methods believes everyone deserves access to our lifesaving care. No membership should be required to guarantee low out-of-pocket costs.

There are a lot of misperceptions about the cost of air medical transport. Memberships have added to the confusion. Air Methods is working to create a better way.

NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

Patient care decisions should never be made on the basis of membership. Everyone deserves the same care, no matter what.  We’ve seen lower costs and better outcomes through our Patient Advocacy program and by working to increase insurance coverage for our services.

Memberships have created confusion among patients and caregivers.

Myth & Reality

Patient Advocacy

Our dedicated Patient Advocacy team provides patients with support and resources during the post-flight billing process. Our goal is to relieve stress on patients and their families. Patient advocates successfully help patients navigate the claims and appeals process.

Since 2016, our Patient Advocacy program has successfully lowered average out-of-pocket costs across the country. We’re confident this will continue. When patients work with our Patient Advocacy team, they rarely pay more than their co-pay and deductible.

Because we are not part of your insurance network, we work with you to get the insurance company to pay our charges, not you.

Agreements with Insurance Companies

We have agreements with some of the largest health insurance compa-nies in more than 20 states. Our plans are to continue to increase

these agreements and go in-network in all areas we serve. Once we are in-network, the patient only pays applicable copays or deductibles.

Our Patient Advocacy team steps in, negotiates with the insurance compa-ny, and the patient is covered.

Community Partnership Programs

We actively partner with local government entities to ensure that residents have access to life-saving air medical services without the worry of out-of-pocket expenses. Through community partnerships, we work to establish a charitable fund for patients to assist with out-of-pocket medical expenses. We encourage local governments to contact us to discuss the details of such arrangements.
