When it comes to air medical transport, there is nothing more important than the safety of those on board. Together with the pilot and medical crew, Air Methods aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) are an essential part of the team that ensures the aircraft is mission ready.
The leading provider of air medical emergency transport services in the US. Air Methods is headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We have operations in over 300 bases and serve 48 states.
Each year the company flies close to 130,000 air medical flight hours and is on track to reach over 100,000 patients who require intensive medical care from the scene of an accident or hospital to highly skilled trauma center or territory care centers.
Air Methods medical fleet is one of the most modern in the industry and consists of over 400 helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The company has also invested more than $100 million in advancing and incorporating safety programs and technologies into its operations through its FAA approved SMS program.
As the leader in the air medical industry, Air Methods is seeking qualified, professional aviation maintenance technicians to serve in our communities. We want to hear from you if you meet the following minimum standards:
Initial technical training is conducted over a five-day period at the national training center in Colorado and includes review and/or instruction on the following:
Air Methods is committed to providing air medical transport resources to our communities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With this, our field technicians typically work non-traditional hours. Instead of a limited number of technicians being transported across the country, our technicians work at the location where the aircraft is based. This approach encourages adequate rest to ensure optimum on-duty performance. Field technicians are guaranteed 40 hours a week pay, and Air Methods strives to schedule every other weekend off.
Air Methods provides a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees:
Because of the scope of Air Methods operations, technicians have many opportunities for upward career mobility. If qualified, technicians can move from field technician to lead technician, to regional management, and even to the regional maintenance director position. Additionally, if a field mechanic would like to relocate, they can choose from over 300 bases across the nation or move into a corporate position.
Technicians at a base where there is only one assigned mechanic are expected to be available during on-call hours. Single mechanic bases will support each other from other bases for on-call maintenance so our mechanics can have quality of life. At bases with multiple technicians, it is expected that off-duty technicians are reasonably available to the on-duty technicians in the event of an unscheduled maintenance event and available to work during periods of heavy scheduled maintenance.
Professional appearance, necessary tools, and connectivity are a must. Uniforms are supplied to all field-based technicians. Air Methods has a tool reimbursement policy and will also provide computers and cell phones to all field technicians.
