Shop with a Cop Program assists Kids in Need

FORT MOHAVE, AZ – December 4, 2023  — Over the weekend, the TriState CareFlight teams, based in Fort Mohave and Bullhead City, partnered with local first responders in the 28th annual Shop with a Cop.

“This is our fifth year participating in this heartwarming program,” said TriState CareFlight Account Executive Valerie Yevzerova. “We are grateful to be able to collaborate with our partners and provide this opportunity for kiddos who are less fortunate in our community.”

Along with Fort Mohave and Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments, the TriState CareFlight teams provided a positive experience shopping with first responders and EMS personnel.

“Our CareFlight teams impact many lives by providing emergency lifesaving care via an air ambulance,” said Flight Paramedic Kyle Haus. “Through the Shop with a Cop program, we were able to impact many through a different mode of service— sharing the spirit of Christmas of giving back to our community.”

This year, the program helped more than 150 children in need. Children are chosen to be part of the program through local schools. After sharing breakfast, provided by the Elks Lodge, the children rode in a parade of patrol vehicles with lights and sirens to Walmart, where first responders helped each child get needed and wanted items with their $150 gift card. Additionally, Santa visited with each child, where each received a backpack filled with generous donations and other goodies.

“Thank you to the CareFlight flight crews for providing a one-on-one experience to underprivileged children at Saturday and Sunday’s shopping events, said Bullhead City Police Department’s Community Services Officer and Shop with a Cop Board Member Lorrie Duggins. “The crews were all smiles in the early morning hours each day making sure the Christmases for these children were a little brighter this year.”
