Air Methods Ascend program provides state-of-the-art online clinical education

REXBURG, ID, Oct. 3, 2023 – Air Methods, the nation’s leading air medical service provider, announced today that Madison Fire Department has selected Air Methods Ascend’s online Critical Care Review program to provide additional training for their paramedics.

With stations in the City of Rexburg, Townsite of Archer, and Sugar City, Madison Fire responds to an ever-increasing number of fire and ambulance calls every year. They provide around the clock fire and medical protection to the community with licensed critical care paramedics, paramedics and EMTs, and nationally certified structural and wildland firefighters.

“Our top priority is doing our best for the communities we serve and that means investing in training and education,” said Madison Fire Deputy Chief Troyce Miskin. “We are confident that Ascend’s online program will help ensure our paramedics remain updated on the latest medical best practices to provide the best patient care.”

Ascend’s offerings of innovative online education programs include Critical Care Review and EMS Review for emergency medical responders seeking to advance their training, help improve emergent patient outcomes, and meet their continuing education needs. Courses meet certification requirements for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), and International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC).

Additionally, Ascend’s in-person programs provide access to world-class educators, state-of-the-art tools, and cutting-edge technologies to help pre-hospital and critical care clinicians build their knowledge, enabling them to operate at the top of their licensure and fulfill continuing education requirements. Education programs include advanced manikin-based simulation and virtual reality training that mirror real-world patient care scenarios, building life-saving skills and confidence.

“We are excited to offer our online training program to the team at Madison Fire,” said Dr. Stephanie Queen, Air Methods Senior Vice President of Clinical Services. “Our online program will provide the crew with the latest clinical techniques and practices to continue to provide the best possible care for their patients.”
