LIHUE, HAWAIʻI – Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is proud to announce the re-opening of operations at Princeville Airport on the north shore of Kauai Island. With a special oli (Hawaiian chant) by Kahu Jade, Blue Hawaiian celebrated the grand re-opening on April 19. The event was hosted in the Princeville Airport’s new executive lounge, part of an extensive remodeling of the airport. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters previously operated tours departing from Princeville Airport before closing in March 2020 as the pandemic reached Hawai’i.

“It was an incredible afternoon to see our coworkers, community leaders, and industry partners gather to celebrate this special place,” said President of Blue Hawaiian Quentin Koch. “We are honored to be able to return to a community and location unlike any other in Hawai’i. Our appreciation of this area will be evident in the ways we conduct our operations and through the actions of our team.”

The aerial tour departing from Princeville Airport is aptly named “Discover Kauai” as witnessing the beauty of Kauai from a helicopter can leave one feeling as though they are seeing the island for the first time. The tour offers spectacular views of Hanapepe Valley and the famed and privately owned waterfall “Jurassic Park” Falls or Manawaiopuna Falls.

Additionally, guests will be able to take in Olokele Canyon, majestic Waimea Canyon, which is known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and iconic Na Pali Coast before returning to Princeville Airport. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters also offers exclusive helicopter transfers from the Lihue Airport to Princeville Airport.
