BLAIRSVILLE, GA – August 27, 2026 – The AirLife Georgia emergency air medical program in Blairsville commemorated 10 years of dedicated service to the people of Union County and beyond with a celebration held at Union County Farmers Market on Wednesday, August 26. The event brought together current and former crew members, first responders from throughout Northern Georgia, and other partners.

“Being here with so many partners to celebrate a decade of providing life-saving care is just amazing,” said Air Methods Senior Account Executive Marcus Lindsey. “All of these folks here, from the ER staff to EMS to fire and police, they are the reason we are here. Without their partnership, we wouldn’t be able to serve the people of Blairsville and beyond.”

Guests got a close-up look at the program’s helicopter, heard from special guest speakers, and gained insight into what it takes to deliver critical care from the skies 24/7. Among the attendees was Towns County Commissioner Cliff Bradshaw, who had nothing but good things to say about having AirLife GA 14 available to help his residents.

“It means the world knowing that if someone up here needs something, they are here,” said Bradshaw. “Traditionally, if someone had a heart attack or fell off a latter, the only option was to drive to Gainesville. Now, the residents of Towns County, Union County, anywhere up here in North Georgia can get wherever they need to be to get the care they need.

The program’s helicopter serves as a flying ICUs, staffed with industry-leading clinicians who are trained to provide critical care to patients suffering from trauma due to accidents, cardiac events, strokes, and more. The crews also carry blood that can be administered in flight, providing hospital-level care in the air.

Air Methods is committed to providing air medical services to all members of the communities it serves and is in-network wit most major health insurance providers across the country for emergency air medical services. Additionally, their patient advocacy program works with all patients, regardless of insurance, to ensure affordability while making pre-paid air medical membership unnecessary.
