Air Methods of Kentucky 8 Celebrates 25 years of Lifesaving Service Share On... by Air Methods posted June 12, 2025 GLASGOW, KY, June 12, 2025 – For a quarter-century, the Air Methods of Kentucky air medical base in Glasgow, KY has been providing lifesaving service throughout Barren County and beyond. On Tuesday, the crew marked this significant milestone with a celebratory barbecue at the base, joined by long-standing EMS and hospital partners. “This anniversary shows how much Air Methods of Kentucky means to the area and also how much the area means to Air Methods of Kentucky,” said Air Methods Senior Account Executive Brian Carpenter. “Being able to celebrate this milestone with the people who have made it all possible is truly special.” Partners from Barren-Metcalfe EMS, T.J. Samson Community Hospital, and Edmonson County EMS were recognized by the crew for the services they provide and the strong partnership they have created over the last 25 years. “For the past 25 years, dedicated crew members have been providing life-saving care to this community,” said Kentucky 8 Flight Paramedic Sarah Hanna. “It was wonderful to celebrate as a base with all the different groups that help us do what we do. It’s truly an honor to serve this community.” True to its mission, the Kentucky 8 team did not let the celebration delay lifesaving care. Just minutes before their event began, the crew was dispatched to a nearby county. After transporting a patient, the on-duty crew returned to the base and rejoined the celebration—a powerful reminder that Kentucky 8 stands ready to respond 24/7. One of six CAMTS accredited full-service air medical transport bases under the Air Methods of Kentucky umbrella, Kentucky 8 in Glasgow is led by an experienced crew that is highly trained in pediatrics, high-risk OBGYN care, and specialized transport, including patients with intra-aortic balloon pumps.
