Ribbon-cutting marks new chapter for AirCom and DPL teams providing life-saving coordination across the country

Omaha, NE – May 14, 2025 – Air Methods proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new national dispatch center in Omaha with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday. This new facility, the largest aeromedical dispatch center in the country, brings together 225 teammates from AirCom and Direct Patient Logistics teams who provide around-the-clock dispatch services for more than 300 air ambulance helicopters and airplanes nationwide, as well as transfer services for large hospital systems.

The event was attended by AirCom and DPL teammates, community members, Air Methods’ Executive Leadership Team, and local dignitaries, including Omaha City Councilmember Don Rowe.

“This new building, along with its many enhancements, gives our teams the tools and environment they need to focus on their vital work, ” said Director of AirCom Operations Tim Seidel. “The upgrades, both seen and unseen, enable our teams to help coordinate the fastest, safest, and most appropriate transport possible for every patient.”

The AirCom and DPL teams moved into the new facility in January and have enjoyed the space’s new features such as flexible meeting spaces to accommodate teams of all sizes and robust redundancies for power and network systems to maintain uninterrupted operations during outages. Each workstation is also backed by alternative power sources, ensuring that dispatch coordination continues seamlessly, no matter the circumstances.

“We were honored to join AirCom and DPL teammates for this celebration,” said Air Methods CEO Rob Hamilton. “These individuals are the first point of contact in the thousands of transports we support every month. Their role, while very much behind-the-scenes, is absolutely critical to our mission and we’re thrilled they now have this amazing facility to better support their work.”

In 2024, AirCom helped Air Methods aircraft complete 81,757 flights nationwide and averaged over 600,000 phone calls in and out to create an average of 20,000 flight requests each month. In addition to dispatching Air Methods aircraft, the center also helps facilitate ground ambulance dispatch in multiple states and works with many of the nation’s largest hospital entities to process thousands of inter-facility transfers each month.
