Continuing Education Event to Unite First Responders and Healthcare Professionals

MARTINSVILLE, VA — May 18, 2026 — AirLife Virginia, in partnership with the Henry County Department of Public Safety, will host the inaugural AirLife Virginia Pulse Expo, a three-day continuing education event designed to bring together EMS, fire, law enforcement, and hospital professionals for collaborative learning and advanced patient care training. The event will take place June 26–28 at the Henry County Department of Public Safety, located at 1024 Dupont Road in Martinsville.

“Pulse Expo will allow participants to collaborate, stay current on recurring clinical training, and build the muscle memory needed to respond with confidence,” said Trish Dudley, business manager for Air Methods, the nation’s leading air medical provider and AirLife Virginia’s parent company. “We’re excited to launch this inaugural event in late June.”

Centered around the theme “Elevating Care Through Collaboration and Camaraderie,” Pulse Expo will feature lectures and hands-on training led by industry experts, covering topics that range from Basic Life Support (BLS) to advanced critical care. Sessions will include neonatal and pediatric emergencies, trauma and burn care, cardiology, vasoactive medications (used in critical care to manage blood pressure), individual first aid kits, and operational readiness and interdisciplinary response. Bringing professionals from across the healthcare continuum, the event highlights the importance of strong partnerships and a complete ecosystem of care that supports patients from the scene through transport and into the hospital.

The event is designed to deliver real-world, evidence-based education that professionals can apply in both field and clinical settings while strengthening collaboration across emergency response and healthcare teams.

“Pulse Expo is an opportunity for professionals across disciplines to come together around one shared goal: improving patient care,” said AirLife Virginia Flight Paramedic Gary Ayers. “Strong partnerships are essential in emergency response, and when EMS, public safety, and hospital teams train together, they help build a more connected ecosystem of care that better serves patients and communities.”

Continuing education hours will be awarded to attendees. Registration is free, and food will be provided throughout the event. Daily agendas and speaker announcements will be shared soon.
