Air Methods Welcomed Community, Future Teammates to New Dispatch Center During Hiring Event Share On... by Air Methods posted September 03, 2025 OMAHA, NE – Sept. 3, 2025 – Air Methods recently held a hiring event and open house at AirCom, its new dispatch center in Omaha, to showcase the life-saving work that teammates do every day. Guests had the chance to meet crew members, learn about job opportunities across the nation and even begin the application process on site with recruiting specialists. Air Methods also welcomed students and staff from Creighton University, Metropolitan Community College, and Northwest High School to discuss the variety of career opportunities available within the company. “We are always on the lookout for companies and positions that we would be excited to connect our students with,” said John P. Fahey Career Center Senior Director Jeremy Fisher. “Creighton students come from all over the country, so this was a great opportunity to learn more about a company with locations from coast-to-coast.” The highlight of the day came when LifeNet 1-3 from Columbus touched down on the lawn outside AirCom, giving guests the chance to step inside the EC-130 helicopter and meet the crew. Clinicians, pilots, and mechanics from StarCare in Crete and LifeNet 1-1 in Omaha were also at the event to answer questions about their experiences in air medical. “This was a very successful event on all fronts,” said Area Manager Craig Marshall. “We anticipated students and programs looking into future career opportunities, but we also had interest from personnel who may already qualify to join our team.” The AirCom dispatch center, which opened in January, handles more than 500,000 phone calls annually, generating approximately 20,000 flight requests each month. The center also coordinates ground ambulance dispatch in multiple states and manages thousands of inter-facility transfers for major hospital systems. Air Methods owns and operates eight bases in the state of Nebraska and provides aviation services to Omaha Children’s Hospital, Iowa Unity Point, University of Iowa Medical Center, and Iowa MercyOne. Air Methods remains dedicated to serving the communities across Nebraska and beyond. All patients across the United State are protected by the No Surprises Act, which means they will receive the care they need without having to worry about out-of-network costs. Additionally, the Air Methods patient advocacy program works with all patients, regardless of insurance status, to help ensure the affordability of air medical services.
