Mr. Michael Slattery – President
Mr. Mike Slattery was named President of United Rotorcraft Division in August 2013. Mr. Slattery started with Air Methods in 1990 as a design engineer. He held several positions within engineering, program management, and business development. In 2003 he was promoted to Director of Marketing, Sales and Customer Support for Air Methods Products Division (now United Rotorcraft Division).
In 2008 Mr. Slattery left Air Methods Products Division and began Leading Edge Aviation Consulting which specialized in program management, corporate strategic planning, proposal development, M&A activities, and Government/DOD contracting among other services. In 2013 Mr. Slattery returned to Air Methods as President of United Rotorcraft.
Mr. Slattery previously worked for Hughes Aircraft Company in their Missile Systems Group as a Test Equipment Project Engineer and Garrett Turbine Engine Division as a Reliability and System Safety Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics in Operations Research from the University of Northern Colorado.
Mr. William Salus – Senior Director of Operations
Mr. Bill Salus was named Sr. Director of Operations for United Rotorcraft Division in May of 2013. His responsibilities include the full supply chain progression from purchasing to inventory, production control and planning to the manufacturing of parts. Additionally Mr. Salus serves as the FAA Accountable Manager for the Denver Part 145 Repair Station.
In 2004 Mr. Salus was hired as a Program Manager for Air Methods Products Division and was quickly promoted to Director of Operations/Completions. During the latter part of his tenure, the aircraft completions team was turning up to 40 helicopters a year through the Englewood completion center. In 2012 he was promoted to Director of Product Development and Engineering.
Prior to Air Methods, Mr. Salus worked as an engineer in the Light Helicopter Division of Boeing Helicopter Company and Department Manager Engineering/Technical Support for MD Helicopters. His responsibilities took him all over the world where he represented Boeing’s Engineering team. He has a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master of Aeronautical Sciences from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Arizona.
Mr. Jon Warneke – Senior Director of Program Management
Mr. Jon Warneke was named Senior Director of Program Management and Customer Support for United Rotorcraft Division in November 2013. He started with Air Methods Products Division in 2003 as a Program Manager and was promoted in 2005 to Director of Program Management.
In 2011 Mr. Warneke left Air Methods Products Division and worked as a Program Manager for Sierra Nevada Corporation, managing complex Air Force programs. His role was to manage fleet upgrades to ISR aircraft with squadrons deployed around the globe.
Mr. Warneke previously worked for Hughes Helicopters, McDonnell Douglas Helicopters Systems, and Boeing through a series of mergers and acquisitions. He held a variety of positions including Flight Test, International Field Service Engineering, Department Manager of Commercial Technical Support which consisted of managing the Field Service Engineering department, Spares Provisioning department, commercial Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) department, FAA Approved Repair Station and the Commercial Delivery Center where he earned the McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Leadership Award in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and Aviation Maintenance Technology from San Diego Mira Mar College.
Mr. Frank Graham – Senior Director of Global Sales and Marketing
Mr. Frank Graham joined United Rotorcraft, an Air Methods Division, in February of 2011 as Director of Business Development. Mr. Graham assumed the responsibility of Global Sales and Marketing in 2013 with an emphasis to grow the business globally.
Prior to United Rotorcraft, Mr. Graham spent 17 years working for LifePort, Inc., a competitor and sometimes supplier to United Rotorcraft. During his LifePort tenure, Mr. Graham held the positions of Account Manager, Vice President of Sales, Chief Operations Officer, and finally Chief Commercial Officer of startup “LifePort Aircraft Seating Division”. Mr. Graham left LifePort in 2010 after the organization was sold to Sikorsky Aircraft. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in history from the University of Nebraska where he was a three sport athlete under scholarship.
Mr. Robert Brodin – Director of Government Programs
Mr. Bob Brodin was named Director of Government Programs for Air Methods’ United Rotorcraft Division in May 2013. Mr. Brodin started with Air Methods Products Division in 2008 as a program manager for the government business sector. He has held several positions within program management and business development. In 2012 he was promoted to Director of Business Development – Government for United Rotorcraft Division.
Prior to 2008 Mr. Brodin was in the United States Navy assigned to Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego, California as program manager for command and control systems trials and implementations. Mr. Brodin attained the rank of Commander while assigned to United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base from 2001 to 2004. Prior to 2001, he was assigned to various deploying squadrons and ships accounting for twelve military deployments.
As a career rotary wing aviator, Mr. Brodin has logged 2,468 flight hours and holds an FAA Commercial Rotory Wing License. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and a Master of Science in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Mr. Michael Hoganson – Interim Director of Engineering
Mr. Mike Hoganson returned to United Rotorcraft Division as Interim Director of Engineering and Certification in late 2015. He last worked for Air Methods as Manager of Engineering, Certification, and Quality in 1997. His team developed several products that form the cornerstone of the current United Rotorcraft product portfolio. These include the first Bell 407 medical interior, UH-60Q MEDEVAC interior, and Operation Blessing’s L1011 “Flying Hospital”.
Mr. Hoganson has held progressively advancing roles in several companies serving the aerospace and healthcare markets. These include Chief Manufacturing Engineer and Operations Team leader for Lockheed Martin, Director of Engineering and Business Development for United Technologies Aircraft Safety Systems, and Chief Technology Officer and Regional President for Swisslog/KUKA. Most recently, he founded Omnia Partners, a consultancy focused on mid-market companies interested in making transformational changes to their business strategies.
Mr. Hoganson holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, and graduate degrees in materials science and business from the University of Texas and University of Colorado respectively. He also holds advanced certifications in information technology, finance and human resources as well as being a certified in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. He holds 14 US patents, and has been a featured presenter on national television for innovation in healthcare automation.
Mr. Everett Horst – Director of Decatur Operations
Mr. Everett Horst started with United Rotorcraft in August 2014 as Director of Operations in Decatur Texas. He has a diverse history in the aviation industry, including being awarded a patent in 1987 for an aircraft panel lighting system he co-invented.
Mr. Horst was founding partner of Premier Aviation and served as managing partner until its sale and continued as Director of Marketing post sale. During his time with Premier the team of managing partners at Premier Aviation developed numerous STC modifications and product improvements, including the development of the US Army TH-67 IFR trainer.
Immediately prior to United Rotorcraft, Mr. Horst was managing partner of Heritage Aviation, a full service modification facility, from 2001- 2006, and as General Manager until his departure in 2014. During his time with Heritage Mr. Horst held several positions including Operations Manager and Sales and General Manager. Mr. Horst received an Associate’s degree in electrical engineering from ITT Technical Institute in 1975.
Ms. Christen Duncan – Director of Quality Systems
Ms. Christen Duncan joined the United Rotorcraft Division of Air Methods in September 2012 as the Quality Systems Manager. She led the division’s upgrade from ISO 9001 to the AS9100 standard. Promoted to Director of Quality Systems in October 2015, Ms. Duncan is now Division Management Representative for ISO9001/AS9100 and the FAA-PMA Administrator for the division.
Ms. Duncan has implemented and managed quality systems in aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals/biologics, and healthcare. Her quality career began with Blood Systems Laboratories in Tempe, Arizona, working on special projects. Since then Ms. Duncan has held quality management positions for Bonfils Blood Center, Cochlear Americas, and Southwest Health System. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Arizona State University and is a Certified Nursing Assistant. Ms. Duncan’s professional certifications include Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ), ISO9100 Lead Auditor (RAB-QSA), AS9100 Lead Auditor (RAB-QSA) and she is eligible for certification as a Certified Quality Professional.
Ms. Trina Reish – Director of Customer Support
Ms. Trina Reish was named Director of Commercial Customer Support for United Rotorcraft Division in August 2012. She started with Air Methods Products Division (currently United Rotorcraft Division) in 1999 as a Master Scheduler for the Program Management team. Since that time she has held several positions within United Rotorcraft.
Before Air Methods, United Rotorcraft Division, Ms. Reish worked for Tenere Incorporated in their Manufacturing and Customer Service departments. Prior to her departure from Tenere, she was inducted into their Employee Hall of Fame for her years of service and contribution to the organization. During her time with organization she had realigned the production process into a “Just in Time” manufacturing process, increasing revenue from $250,000 to $1.5 Million a month and 99% on time delivery.
Mr. Kenneth Reincke – Contracts Manager
Mr. Ken Reincke came to United Rotorcraft Division in December 2012 as Contracts Manager for Government Programs. His responsibilities include division contracting as well as proposal pricing in accordance with U.S. Government pricing regulations. In 2013 Mr. Reincke became the Air Methods Corporation Empowered Official for all company interaction with the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
Prior to United Rotorcraft Division, Mr. Reincke worked for the Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA) as an Administrative Contracting Officer. His work in Contract Administration and Contract/Business Management include time with the Air Force, Lockheed Martin, Computer Technology Associates and Booz Allen Hamilton. In a previous position Mr. Reincke also held the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)/Security Essentials Certification. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Colorado.
