United Rotorcraft is pleased to announce it has recently been awarded a contract by University of Utah Health Care’s AirMed, Salt Lake City, Utah, to complete its new Eurocopter EC145 aircraft. The contract includes the manufacture and integration, of United Rotorcraft’s FAA (STC’d) approved medical EMS interior and avionics suite. The aircraft is slated to be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2012.
“During our selection process, we evaluated several different medical interiors and configurations,” said Rob Stantus, AirMed Program Manager. “We were impressed with the quality and innovation of the United Rotorcraft product.”

The medical interior design will include a next-generation machined aluminum floor that will address maintenance accessibility, re-configuration flexibility, fluid containment and cleaning ease. This new configuration will also include multi-configurable recessed window well mounts for medical support equipment, facilitating low profile storage and enhanced visibility for patient care. Additionally, the cockpit instrument panel features avionic upgrades including WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) which is intended to enable aircraft to rely on GPS for all phases of flight including precision approaches, Skywatch 497 TAS, Honeywell Mark XXI, and OuterLink OVVR.
