History of LifeCom

Formed in 1996

Resulted from consolidation of two competing hospital based air medical service programs in Omaha, Nebraska

  • LifeFlight @ St. Joseph and SkyMed @ UNMC

Operated in a small leased office building in Omaha Nebraska until growth and technological demands exceeded physical limitations

New State-of-the-art air medical services communications center was designed and built specifically for LifeCom’s unique technological needs

In April 2002, LifeCom moved into the new Communications Center adjacent to the Eppley Field Airport in Omaha

In October 2002, Air Methods Corporation finalized the purchase of Rocky Mountain Helicopters
