Service model options meet customer needs
As the most experienced air medical operator in the industry, we are able to offer our partners a variety of model options under our Air Medical Services Division to best serve their requirements.
Our Hospital-Based Model provides air medical transportation services to hospital customers nationwide. Under this service model, the hospital owns the program and provides the medical personnel and communications functions, while Air Methods provides aircraft operation and maintenance. We are honored to partner with some of the most prestigious hospital and health systems in the nation.
Under our Community-Based Model, we are able to provide communities with high-quality, intensive/critical medical care through a focused business model. Within this model, we operate helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft with critical care medical staff that is skilled and trained in areas such as burns, cardiac, pediatrics, respiratory, and trauma, and also can assist with specialty-team transports. A voluntary accreditation, we require our Community-Based Model programs to seek and maintain Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) certification.
Alternative Delivery Model (ADM)
The Alternative Delivery Model option is the newest option and one of the fastest growing. The objective of an ADM is to minimize or eliminate fiscal risk to our partners while securing air medical transports for our partner in their market. Our ADM is a shared risk partnership. Under an ADM, Air Methods receives support from our partner in medical staffing, medical direction, marketing and other items as agreed to by the partners. In this model, Air Methods provides aviation, fuel, maintenance, aircraft, dispatch, billing and EMS licensure. Branding is usually consistent with hospital partner branding identity.
