MediFlight adds fourth base in Oklahoma

Mar 04, 2013

We are pleased to announce MediFlight of Oklahoma  has added a fourth base in Lawton to its existing regional system of operations in Seminole, Chickasha, and Oklahoma City. The base went into service March 4, 2013, with an AS350 B2 stationed at Lawton’s Fort Sill Regional Airport.

Lawton is the fifth-largest city in Oklahoma, located 85 miles southwest of Oklahoma City and this base was established in partnership with Comanche County Memorial Hospital as the preferred provider. A total of eight medical crew members (including five new employees and three transfers), four pilots, and one mechanic will be assigned to the base.

Originally established as a hospital-to-hospital transport service, MediFlight celebrated its 30th year in service in 2010 and is CAMTS-accredited. Utilizing two EC130 helicopters, MediFlight supports The Children's Hospital at Oklahoma University Medical Center and Oklahoma's only Level I Trauma Center, housed inside OU Medical Center.
